The Caporossi Story

The Caporossi family come from Campofilone, in eastern Italy. The town of Campofilone was founded in the Dark Ages along the external walls of a Benedectine Abbey dedicated to St. Bartalomeo, who is still today the town's Patron Saint. In the 12th century the Monastery came under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Fermo and remained so until the year 1342. Many parts of the embattlements are still visible along with the tower and the many churches, which contain paintings by Fontana and Achilli.

Campofilone is famous for its Maccheroncini, an egg pasta which is home-made by many of the local women even today. For more than 30 years during the first week of every August thousands of people visit the "Maccheroncini Fair"- they are enticed by this local speciality and by the warm hospitality of the township.

Campofilone itself is an attractive tourist spot with its mix of old and new and the fact that it finds itself in a area where clean sea, green countryside and rolling hills meet together in rare beauty.
